How Funding Works

Understanding the all-or-nothing funding model.

Futurepreneurs uses an all-or-nothing funding model:

  • Supporters pledge money to your project
  • Their card is not charged at the time of pledging
  • If your project reaches its funding goal, all backers are charged and you receive the funds (minus the platform fee)
  • If your project does not reach its goal, no one is charged and no money changes hands

Why all-or-nothing?

This protects students from receiving partial funding that isn't enough to execute their business plan. It also protects backers — they know the project will only go ahead if it's fully funded.

Is there a time limit?

There is no time limit on campaigns. Your project stays live until it reaches its goal or you choose to cancel it.
